Politics and Friends

Over the years, I have learned that Politics and Friends don't mix. It can get pretty ugly when your friend suddenly gets too involved in the world of politics. Sometimes, the tension never really goes away; however, I do believe that if the person's truly is your friend, he/she wouldn't really hold your beliefs against you. We all grow up differently, and, most of the time, what we always believed in childhood never really disappears because that's how we grew up. And, along the way, when those beliefs change, it's probably because of the paths that we've chosen. There's nothing wrong with that. So, we are what we are.

With the election coming really soon, tensions are sure to fly high. It's going to get pretty ugly and I do think that hearing each other's views is important. But, politics is politics, and, please do keep it civilized.

The Olympics To The Finish Line

It has been a fun Olympic year. There have been tears and moments of triumps for each athlete. I think it's not just about who won gold or not: it's about the moment itself. The love of the game that lies within us that envelopes our need to see other people succeed will be the driving force that will keep the Olympic games prosperous for thousands of more years.

I am proud of team U.S.A. and the representatives of other nations as well because for a moment of just over 2 weeks, the world became one. And to me, that's simply amazing.

Gabby Douglas and Gymnastic's Greatest Prize

When I heard that Gabby Douglas won the All-Around Gymnastics Gold Medal, I immediately became overwhelmed by happiness. I congratulate her for becoming the first African-American woman to win the All-Around competition.
